SYSA is a great organization to help develop your child’s social and athletic skills. My oldest started playing and loved it so I decided to get involved. I coached two of my kids in Rec league. Seeing everything that goes into it and the fun the kids have only made me want to help more. You can help too! Please reach out to get involved!

Kyle Tavares
VP of Rec
I have been involved with SYSA for over seven years now and soccer for as long as I can remember whether it was playing, coaching, or managing. Soccer is a passion of mine and I enjoy being able to share it with the Salem community. I currently hold an USSF D License.

Currently coaching U12 Girls
I have always wanted to give back to the community, as a lifelong resident of Salem. Seeing how much work goes into our town sports programs and how it is dependent on volunteers made it easy for me to volunteer my time to SYSA and other town organizations.
I am happiest when spending my weekends on the fields and building strong relationships with the families on the team. There is nothing more fulfilling than seeing the players grow over the seasons, and having everyone on the sidelines cheering for the players on the team.

I joined the SYSA board in May of 2023 as the field and equipment coordinators. My son, has been playing soccer for the recreational league for about 3 years and is currently on the Salem Strikers travel U9 team. I have a niece who is on the Salem strikers U12 travel team and a nephew who plays on the recreational league. I coached the U8 recreational spring league this past spring. Because of the small part of my family in the travel and recreational leagues for the past few years, I wanted to volunteer my time and services to the SYSA in any capacity. Please feel free to contact me or anyone on the board if you have any questions or concerns.
After moving to Salem NH IN 2021 I wanted to ensure my kids started playing sports they were interested in. My son and daughter joined soccer and I started helping with planning and organizing. Which then lead my husband to become a coach and I became the TOTs and U6 coordinator as well as chair of fundraising. There is so much planning, organizing and time that goes into making our organization run smoothly. I love watching all the kids play every week with smiles on their faces! We are so lucky to be in such a great community and I am proud to be on the team!
