Organized into three programs for kids ranging from U4 – U18. SRL (Salem Rec League) is open to all kids within the appropriate age group, regardless of previous soccer experience or skill level. The SRL is a great place for players to learn the game and to make new friends.
Weather permitting the U6 and Above Recreation League plays a two-season schedule, with 7-8 games in the Fall and 7-8 games in the Spring. Our TOT program is Fall or Spring only and generally runs 6-7 weeks.
In the fall, we hold our annual picture day. The Fall season is typically early-September to early-November.
In the spring the teams participate in our annual jamboree and receive their trophies or awards. The Spring season is typically mid-April to mid-June.
The U8 program continues to build on based on teaching from the previous programs. U8 teams have one practice during the week followed by a match on Sunday. This gives kids an opportunity to begin to compete with other SRL teams in a fun player centric environment. Teams in this program play 5 a side. This program is for players ages 6 and 7.
The U12 program further expands the concepts of soccer as a team sport by now transitioning to 11 a side and begin to compete in inter town league where teams will now travel to local towns to play other U12 recreational teams.
Time commitment varies based on age group:
Tots U3-U5 30 mins, 15 min training, 15 min match play | 1 time a week
U6 1hr, 30 mins training, 30 mins match play | 1 time a week
U8 – U15 1hr practice, 1 match | 1 time a week
Matches are typically scheduled for Sunday mornings, however this may change based on scheduling and inclement weather.
Yes we partner with local clubs to offer camps during the summer and winter months.
You can find more information here Camps.
The Fall season begins The first Sunday after Labor Day and concludes the last week of October. The Spring season begins in April and concludes at the end of May with a league wide jamboree tournament.
Schedules are usually available two weeks before the season starts. Before we can create schedules we need to know how many players we have, so we know how many teams to create. U4-U10 age groups play on Sunday mornings.
